PETERBOROUGH, ON - Alan Quine got the last laugh tonight at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston as he returned home and kept the Peterborough Petes alive in the shootout before Lino Martschini scored to give the Petes a 4-3 victory over Ryan Spooner and the Kingston Frontenacs.

After Kingston got on the board first, Matt Puempel tipped in Slater Koekoek's point shot to tie the game 1-1 heading in to the intermission.

The Frontenacs scored the lone goal in the second period to take the 2-1 lead after forty minutes.

Austin Watson snapped a shot past the Frontenacs goaltender to tie the game before the Frontenacs scored to take the lead once again. While playing shorthanded with less than two minutes to go, Adrian Robertson's point shot found the back of the net to force overtime.

Neither team was able to capitalize in the extra frame so the two teams headed to the shootout. With neither team having scored in the shootout, Ryan Spooner broke the tie beating Andrew D'Agostini before Quine went back at his former team and tied the shootout at 1-1. After Nathan Moon failed to get a shot away, Martschini showed great patience and slid the puck past the Frontenacs goaltender for the victory.

The Petes finish out the weekend tomorrow night when they play host to the Windsor Spitfires, 7:00 PM at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Fans are asked to arrive early to avoid conflict with the Santa Clause Parade.
