PETERBOROUGH, ON - After a successful road trip to the state of Michigan, the Peterborough Petes returned home last night to face the Belleville Bulls at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. It was the Bulls who walked away with the two points however; after an 8-6 victory where offense was key. The two teams were tied 2-2 after the first period as Kurt Gowdy and Zach Tatrn responded after two unanswered from the Bulls to start the period. Belleville took a 7-4 lead in to the second period intermission with Geoff Bezruchko getting his first career Ontario Hockey League goal and Alan Quine continuing his strong play with his 11th of the season. After falling behind 8-4, it was Lino Martschini and Justin Larson scoring two quick goals to pull the Petes within two with just under four minutes remaining. The maroon and white couldn't muster any more offense in the final minutes and went down to defeat 8-6. The Petes are right back at it tonight when they travel to the K-Rock Centre in Kingston to take on Ryan Spooner and the Kingston Frontenacs at 7:30 PM. |
