PETERBOROUGH, ON - The Peterborough Lakers will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Thursday night when they play host to the Brooklin Redmen at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. The Lakers are expecting many of the women survivors of Breast Cancer to join them at the Memorial Centre. Joan Bates, the President of Peterborough Survivors Abreast Dragon boat will be on hand to do the opening face-off. Volunteers of the Canadian Cancer Society will be at the various entrances to accept donations for the cause. The Peterborough Lakers coaching staff and players will be sporting pink shoelaces for Breast Cancer Awareness as well. Lastly, fans are encouraged to wear pink to show support for the cause. |
