PETERBOROUGH, ON - The Peterborough Lakers are on to the Major Series Lacrosse Final after a 14-3 romp of the Brooklin Redmen in the seventh and deciding game of the MSL semi-final. The Lakers will now play against the Brampton Excelsiors beginning later this week in Peterborough.

It was all Lakers from the beginning as they entered the playing surface to a loud standing ovation from over 2,900 proud Lakers' supporters. John Grant led the way offensively with five goals and two assists and was named co-player of the game along with Mike Thompson who allowed just three goals, including a shutout in the second period, and Josh Wasson-McQuigge who had five points and was very strong on the face-offs.

The Lakers' needed a seventh and deciding game after having the first two games taken away from them due to playing an inactive player. The Lakers then went on to win the third and fourth games only to be on the brink of elimination after losing game five at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. The blue, white, and red then outscored the Redmen 28-8 in the final two games to cement their position on the league final.

This meeting the Brampton Excelsiors in the final will be the seventh straight year the two teams have met with both teams winning three times.

The Lakers' executive have also asked that for the remaining games in the playoffs, all Lakers' fans wear blue to the games and greet their team with a loud standing ovation prior to each period to show your support.
